Autumnal Musings…
Sitting down to write has been a long time coming.
Its been a busy few months and a summer full of trying to find that ever elusive balance between work and home life.
But stepping into autumn I am relishing its slower pace with gusto. Crisp mornings and cosey candle lit evenings punctuating the day.
Embracing the beautiful colour changes on my regular woodland walks.
Finding forms and patterns in amongst the die back that can seem elusive in the midst of summer and the vast sea of green.
Whilst the darker evenings offer the opportunity to enjoy the moon and stars in all their glory before it gets too cold to sit out in the garden.
Its early Sunday morning as I write this and finish the last remnants of my milky coffee. I’m already thinking about the week ahead, making to-do lists and trying to be as efficient as possible as I go back into a week of balancing work, family and life.
But on that to do list is to walk and sketch everyday, even if its only for ten minutes. This magical creative time will go in a heartbeat. So its those ideas, musings and sketches that will get me through the darkness of winter in preperation for spring.
